Homework

Homework

Some homework is made to forget
but sometimes it can be fun and easily done
yesterday I’d say, I’d rather practice my clarinet
some homework is made to forget
today I get to draw a girl I met
I’ll draw her hair bright and yellow as the sun
some homework is made to forget
but sometimes it can be fun and easily done

Triolet for a Wolf

Triolet for a Wolf

One afternoon deep within the wood,
I was warm when you came near:
You leaned your coat against me and there I stood,
one afternoon deep within the wood.
I didn't move although I thought I should--
your heat and silence were enough to fear--
but that afternoon deep within the wood,
I was so warm when you came near.

Triolet with Violets

I saw a robin sitting in a tree
he was busy dreaming of Spring
and all the violets that he would see
I saw a robin sitting in a tree
he looked at me and did not flee
he sang the song he was meant to sing
I saw a robin sitting in a tree
he was busy dreaming of Spring
