(No title yet, just an idea for a poem)

Hoping:
I practice the violin,
Hug the wood beneath my chin.

Complaining:
If only I was better with the bow,
I could make this music flow!

Encouraging:
Music escapes from the heart's very own strings
when I give these lovely feelings wings.

Tess,

I just read your comments on my blog Wild Rose Reader. Thanks.

One suggestion I have for you: Join those of us kidlit bloggers who post on Poetry Friday. You can post original poems, links to poems at poetry websites, reviews of children's poetry books, etc. A different blogger does the Poetry Friday Roundup each week. Email me if you'd like further information at edotdrabik@yahoodotcom

I really like the idea for this poem. Might I suggest you omit the word "only" from the second stanza. I think the line would read better.

Welcome to the world of kidlit bloggers. I'm always happy to find another blogger who posts her original poems. Well done!

I just want to say that I asked Elaine for advice so her suggestion here about "only" is much appreciated. I am simply undecided so I will need to return to this one at a much later date. A word about posting poems so early-- I'm posting as they come and I know I will return to them in several months with new eyes. Here they are with all of their blemishes.
